That is,      when speaking "and",     if articulating "[ŋ=  y=]" from/with English /P/Ch posture    and   "and" from/with /C2/Ch posture    (while making articulation ball of GRECOnglish /abT,   not English /abR),       "inverse ess"  is metaphthong/MPh pronounced.

"inverse ess" is chest/Ch sound    and "ampersand" is mouth/Mo sound.

And      if articulating "ampersand" from/with Scottish speaking posture   (cp; lowest neck/throat, shifted backward.    * bp/High/Front),       "epershand"  is metaphthong/MPh pronounced.

Do you agree     that  "&" is right for the symbol of "inverse (italic capital) ess (S)"??

Etymology
The word ampersand is a conflation of the phrase "and per se and", meaning "and [the symbol which] by itself [is] and".[1] The Scots and Scottish English name for & is epershand, derived from "et per se and", with the same meaning.
Traditionally, in English-speaking schools when reciting the alphabet, any letter that could also be used as a word in itself ("A," "I," and, at one point, "O") was preceded by the Latin expression "per se" (Latin for "by itself"). Also, it was common practice to add at the end of the alphabet the "&" sign, pronounced "and". Thus, the recitation of the alphabet would end in: "X, Y, Z and per se and." This last phrase was routinely slurred to "ampersand" and the term crept into common English usage by around 1837.[2]
Through folk etymology, it has been claimed that André-Marie Ampère used the symbol in his widely read publications, and that people began calling the new shape "Ampere's and". [3]

"and per se and"                        ([ŋ=  y=]/S/Ch + ampersand/P/Ch)                     ampersand

Word Usage
The notion that and should not be used at the beginning of a sentence arose from too literal an understanding of the "joining" function of conjunctions.       The same objection is also raised with regard to but.        If initial and is overdone,   the effect is of poor style, but it is not a matter of grammatical correctness.        Using and at the beginning of a sentence often can be an effective way of drawing attention to what follows:       "You can't get away with this," he threatened.   And we knew he meant it.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/and ,
Usage Note:       It is frequently asserted that sentences beginning with  and or but  express "incomplete thoughts" and are therefore incorrect.     But this rule has been ridiculed by grammarians for decades,   and the stricture has been ignored by writers from Shakespeare to Joyce Carol Oates.      When asked whether they paid attention to the rule in their own writing, 24 percent of the Usage Panel answered "always or usually," 36 percent answered "sometimes," and 40 percent answered "rarely or never."       See Usage Notes at both, but, with.

nonsense                             ([ŋ=  y=]/S + and/P)                               and

idiot                                      (b/P + ut/S)                                      but

*      The unpleasant experiences of "nonsense/idiot",      which can be metaphthong/MPh pronounced by "and/but",      seem to cause the above contentions.

>>        "You can't get away with this," he threatened. And we knew he meant it.

and                                  (by/P + which/S)                                 "by which"

but                    ([ŋ=  w=]/S + "on the other hand"/P)                 "on the other hand"

USAGE        The forms try and do something and wait and do something should only be used in informal or spoken English.       In more formal writing, use try to and wait to, for example:   we must try to prevent this happening (not try and prevent).

"~ try ^to^ prevent ~"    >>   "~ try and prevent ~"                  (liaison-hole/LH)

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/and ,
—Usage note
Both and  and but,  and to a lesser extent or  and so,  are common as transitional words at the beginnings of sentences in all types of speech and writing:     General Jackson thought the attack would come after darkness. And he was right.      Any objection to this practice probably stems from the overuse of such sentences by inexperienced writers.       When one of these words begins a sentence or an independent clause within a sentence, it is not followed by a comma unless the comma is one of a pair setting off a parenthetical element that follows:     John is popular, and he seems to be well adjusted.   But, appearances to the contrary, he is often depressed.    See also and/or, et cetera, try.

usage         The use of and  instead of to  after try  and wait  is typical of spoken language, but should be avoided in any writing which is not informal: We must try to prevent  (not try and prevent ) this happening

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/try ,
Usage Note:            The phrase try and is commonly used as a substitute for try to, as in   Could you try and make less noise?    A number of grammarians have labeled the construction incorrect.     To be sure, the usage is associated with informal style and strikes an inappropriately conversational note in formal writing.      Sixty-five percent of the Usage Panel rejects the use in writing of the sentence    Why don't you try and see if you can work the problem out between yourselves?

That is,       when articulating     "ride a car"    (continuously,  without pause,  like a word)    with/from GRECOnglish/GC /S/Ch/abT speaking posture,      "drive a car" is metaphthong/MPh pronounced.           Et cetera.
